🎞️ Caught on Film: Luton Town 3-0 Watford

The second edition of our Caught on Film series saw Sarah take her trusty camera to the most anticipated Championship fixture in Luton’s calendar, the return of the M1 derby and the visit of Watford. This time she was joined on her mission for retro photos by older brother Edd and his camera.

All eyes were on Luton during the demolition of their local rivals.

After a poor start to the season there was understandably lots of trepidation and worry heading into the derby. Who will be fit? Will the shape we play work? Will we be up for it? Will Sarah’s cameras actually work this time?

Fortunately the answer to all of those was a positive one and here is the alternative match day gallery for derby day!

I was talking recently to a friend about shooting on film and we both agreed film pictures feel like the memory themself, like you’re almost viewing it through a nostalgic lense. Digital photography is obviously great for action shots but film really captures the emotion.

I enlisted the help of my older brother edd who sits in the David preece in order to get two views and also test out both cameras. Edd shot using an Olympus Tripp and I shot from Block G using a Nikon F301 35mm and a Nikon series E lens, both using Kodak gold 200 film. Enjoy Ed’s capturing of Carlton’s back post header!

Luton’s set pieces caused havoc for the Watford defence.

The game itself will live long in the memory of Luton fans and really gives a sense of a turning point for our season. If we play with the desire we showed on Saturday, we won’t be far off where we want to be come May.

Up the Town!
